What it does
When installed, this skill tells Codex how to write and critique long company, industry, or fund research reports for the AI Berkshire project. It shapes the output so the report opens with context, explains business mechanics and moat, argues the bear case, judges management by capital allocation, and only then gives valuation-based buy, hold, or sell guidance with price bands. It is a writing and judgment overlay, not a data source: it does not fetch market data or run analysis itself, and it defers to other financial-data and audit tools.
Great for
- Analysts using Codex to produce Chinese-language AI Berkshire style research reports
- Editors who want consistent structure, step headings and GitHub Markdown formatting in investment write-ups
- Teams reviewing or critiquing existing investment reports for rigor and clarity
Skip it if
- Readers looking for personalised financial advice: the skill encourages buy/hold/sell and price-band language, but the outputs are generated analysis and depend on the underlying data, which the skill does not verify
- Users of Claude Code or other agents: the skill is explicitly Codex-only and says not to use it to modify Claude Code slash-command sources
Try asking
- “Write a research report on a company, including business mechanics, moat, bear case and valuation-to-action guidance”
- “Rewrite this draft research report to follow the investment memo layout and restrained typography standards”
- “Critique this industry report for missing inverse thinking and unfalsifiable moat claims”

No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Provide the underlying financial data and primary sources yourself, since this skill only shapes writing and does not supply figures.
- Ask for a research report rather than a memo unless you specifically want memo framing, as the skill defaults to that naming.
- Check the bear case and valuation numbers manually before acting on any suggested price bands.
