What it does
When you ask the agent to write code against an external service (for example the OpenAI or Stripe API), this skill tells it to look up up-to-date documentation using a command-line tool called chub, instead of relying on what it remembers from training. The agent searches for the matching doc, fetches it in your chosen language, and writes code based on that text. It can also save short notes about gotchas it discovered and send documentation feedback back through chub.
Great for
- Developers who want code written against recent API versions
- Teams whose third-party APIs change often and whose agent's memory may be out of date
- People already using the chub CLI from Context Hub
Skip it if
- Tasks that don't involve external APIs or libraries, where the skill adds nothing
- Environments where installing global npm packages or running network commands is not allowed, since the skill will fail or need workarounds
- Sharing sensitive code or architecture through feedback or annotations, which the skill itself warns against but cannot fully prevent
Try asking
- “Use the OpenAI API to build a chat endpoint, using the latest docs”
- “Call the Stripe API to create a subscription in Python”
- “Query Pinecone with the current SDK in TypeScript”
- “Show me the latest Anthropic SDK behaviour before you write this code”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Ask for the specific language (Python, JavaScript or TypeScript) so the agent passes the correct --lang flag.
- Review any npm install command the agent proposes before approving it, since it installs a global package.
- Check feedback and annotation text before sending it, so no secrets or private code are included.
