What it does
This skill gives an AI agent ready-made patterns for chaining document processing steps together: parsing many files in parallel, sorting mixed document types, preparing text chunks for search databases, loading results into databases or CSV/DataFrames, and drawing boxes or highlights on the original page images. It is a companion to a simpler skill that covers basic LandingAI ADE SDK calls. The agent will also run a short pre-flight check on sample documents before writing code, so it does not guess at heading formats.
Great for
- Developers building document ingestion pipelines on LandingAI ADE
- Data teams loading extracted invoice, form or report fields into Snowflake or CSV files
- Engineers preparing parsed PDFs for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and vector databases
Skip it if
- People who only need a one-off extraction from a single PDF; the basic ADE skill is simpler and cheaper to use
- Anyone without a LandingAI ADE account and API key, since the workflows depend on paid API calls
- Sensitive documents processed without review: the skill mentions redacting PII, but redaction accuracy depends on the code the agent writes and should be checked
Try asking
- “Process this folder of 500 scanned invoices in parallel and write the extracted fields to a CSV file”
- “Build a pipeline that first classifies mixed documents and then runs the right extraction for each type”
- “Chunk these parsed research papers and prepare them for loading into a Chroma vector database”
- “Draw bounding-box overlays on these PDF pages so I can check where each extracted value came from”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip document-workflows.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip document-workflows.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent one or two representative sample documents first so the pre-flight step can inspect the real parse output before any pipeline code is written.
- Save parse results to a JSON file after the first API call and reuse them during development to avoid paying for repeat parses.
- Review any code that writes to databases or redacts content, and test it on sample files before running it on the full corpus.
