What it does

When installed, the agent runs an interactive 10-question multiple-choice quiz on math, classical machine learning, deep learning, NLP/transformers and applied AI. Based on your score, it recommends a starting phase in a 20-phase AI Engineering course so you can skip material you already know. It then builds a personalized phase-by-phase learning path, pulling hour estimates from the course roadmap.

Great for

  • Learners new to AI who want to avoid repeating basics they already know
  • Developers with some ML background deciding whether to start at transformers or agents
  • Instructors or mentors who want a quick self-check before a course

Skip it if

  • Anyone wanting a formal certification or an accurate skill rating, since it is a 10-question quiz with no validation beyond the answers
  • People who want the answers explained up front, because the skill is designed to hold explanations until the end

Try asking

  • “Where should I start in the AI engineering curriculum?”
  • “Give me a placement test to find my level”
  • “Which phase should I begin with given what I know about ML?”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Find Your Level QuizInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 2 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    find-your-level.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip find-your-level.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip find-your-level.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Answer each round honestly without looking at the reference file, since the skill is designed to keep the answer key hidden until you finish.
  • If the repo is not cloned locally, the agent will fetch ROADMAP.md from GitHub, so expect a network request.
  • Use the trigger phrases such as 'find my level' or 'placement test' to start the quiz.
