What it does

This skill teaches an AI assistant to read your legal team's written escalation matrix, a config file describing who can approve what at each dollar level or risk type. When a contract issue comes up, the assistant characterizes it, names the specific person or role who must approve it, and drafts a clear message with the contract quote, the playbook position, options and a recommendation. It is written for in-house and commercial lawyers and does not send anything; the lawyer reviews and sends the draft.

Get better results

  • Fill in the Escalation section of your practice CLAUDE.md with named people or roles before first use, otherwise the skill will say the matrix is missing.
  • Give the contract clause number and the exact issue so the assistant can quote the contract accurately, and always check the quotes against the original.
  • Review the draft carefully before sending; the skill is designed to draft only and it defaults to escalating when unsure.
