What it does
Once installed, the agent keeps a persistent task list in a page called ops/tasks.md inside a gbrain knowledge store. When you say things like add a task, mark something done, push a task to later, or show my tasks, it updates that list with stable IDs, priority levels (P0 urgent to P3 backlog), due or defer dates, and an audit trail. It asks for clarification instead of guessing missing details, and it refuses to delete unless you clearly say so.
Great for
- People who want an AI assistant to manage a running personal to-do list stored in their gbrain brain
- Developers or power users already using gbrain who want task tracking alongside notes
- Agent builders who need a structured, machine-readable task list (JSON output option) that sub-agents can chain
Skip it if
- Teams editing one shared task list concurrently: the skill's own docs warn that simultaneous writes can overwrite each other and create duplicate IDs, so task edits must be serialized
- Anyone without a gbrain setup: the skill depends on gbrain page tools and will not work as a standalone task app
- Critical deadlines or reminders: the skill does not send notifications, it only records tasks when asked
Try asking
- “Add task: finish the quarterly report by Friday, P1”
- “What are my tasks today?”
- “Complete task: call the dentist”
- “Defer task: renew passport to next week, reason: waiting on photos”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give a priority and due date when adding a task, otherwise it defaults to P3 backlog and says so
- Avoid running multiple task changes at the same time, since simultaneous saves can drop changes
- Say explicit words like delete or remove before expecting a task to be removed; otherwise it will suggest complete or defer instead
