What it does
Once installed, the agent audits an existing Cypress end-to-end test suite for code patterns that cause intermittent failures, such as fixed cy.wait() delays, force: true, and broken command chains. It runs a bundled zero-dependency scanner, then rewrites each problem to wait for the real condition instead of hiding it with longer timeouts or retries. It also flags APIs removed in newer Cypress versions so a project can prepare for an upgrade.
Great for
- Developers whose Cypress tests pass locally but fail intermittently in CI
- Teams preparing to upgrade a Cypress project to version 15 or 16
- Engineers reviewing or auditing an existing Cypress spec suite
Skip it if
- Writing brand-new Cypress tests from scratch, which the skill says coding standards cover better (it targets existing suites)
- Non-developers without a Node.js project, since it needs a Cypress codebase to act on
- Fixing application bugs: the skill tells the agent to report app-side race conditions rather than work around them in tests
Try asking
- “Scan my Cypress suite for flaky patterns and list the findings by priority”
- “Remove the cy.wait(2000) calls in cypress/e2e/checkout.cy.ts and replace them with real waits”
- “Check whether my project is ready to upgrade from Cypress 13 to Cypress 16”
- “Debug the 'detached from the DOM' errors in my login spec”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run the scanner first and confirm each finding by reading the code, since its detection is text-based and heuristic
- Ask the agent to measure a flaky spec's failure rate before changing it, so you can tell whether a fix actually worked
- Keep each rule category in its own commit so any regression can be traced easily
