What it does
This is a meta-skill: it teaches the agent how to build and maintain other agent skills inside the LifeOS system. Once installed, when you ask for a new skill or want an existing one checked or improved, the agent follows its intent files to scaffold, validate, test and tidy skill folders instead of writing them by hand. It also ships TypeScript tools that rewrite and migrate skill files mechanically, so existing text is moved rather than retyped.
Great for
- Developers who maintain a LifeOS install and write many custom skills
- Teams standardising how their agent skills are structured and tested
- Anyone migrating older skills to a stricter intent format
Skip it if
- People with no LifeOS setup: many referenced scripts (IntentLint, SkillHygieneGate, Scaffold) live outside this folder and will not exist, so the workflow will fail
- Running it on skills you have not reviewed: the codemod tools rewrite files in place, so changes should be checked in version control first
Try asking
- “Create a new private skill for tracking my reading list”
- “Validate and check the CreateSkill-style skills in my folder for structure problems”
- “Improve a skill whose instructions are unclear”
- “Retire an old skill and fold its content into another skill”
Install in 3 steps

CreateSkill.zip - 2
Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip CreateSkill.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip CreateSkill.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Commit or back up your skills folder before running the rewrite tools, since they modify files.
- Use the validate and test intents first to see what would change before asking for a rewrite.
- Set up a customizations folder under your config root if you need install-specific paths.
