What it does
When you have a written implementation plan split into phases, this skill tells the agent to read the plan, check your GitHub repository for existing issues, and then create one issue per phase (or update an existing one). It asks the agent to use the repository's feature or chore issue templates and to keep each issue limited to what the plan requires. The skill is only instructions; it does not run code itself.
Great for
- Developers who write plans in a file and want them tracked as GitHub issues
- Project leads breaking a large feature into trackable pieces
- Teams that use feature_request.yml or chore_request.yml issue templates
Skip it if
- Projects not hosted on GitHub, since the skill assumes GitHub issue tools (search_issues, create_issue, update_issue) are available
- Quick one-off tasks with no multi-phase plan, where a single issue written by hand is simpler
- Situations where the agent should not write to a shared tracker without review, since it creates or modifies issues directly
Try asking
- “Create GitHub issues from the phases in docs/plan-payments.md”
- “Check whether any of these plan phases already have issues, and update them instead of duplicating”
- “Turn each phase of this implementation plan into a feature issue using the feature request template”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent a plan with clearly named phases so each phase maps cleanly to one issue
- Review the created issues in GitHub afterwards, especially labels and template fields
- Confirm the target repository before the agent starts creating issues
