What it does
This skill helps law clinic students write routine letters to clients, such as appointment confirmations, requests for documents, and brief notes saying a filing was made. It fills in standard templates, checks the wording is plain and that required elements are present, and adds a label marking the draft as AI-assisted for supervisor review. It is designed to stay out of substantive legal advice, which it routes to other workflows or a supervising professor.
Great for
- Law clinic students who send repetitive routine correspondence to clients
- Supervising attorneys or professors who want consistent, plain-language client letters
- Clinic administrators setting up standard letter templates
Skip it if
- Substantive legal advice, bad news, or case strategy, which the skill itself says must go to a supervisor or conversation instead (the letters could mislead a client if misused)
- Anyone not working under a supervising attorney, since the sign-off assumes a licensed supervisor and student practice rules
- Sending letters without review, because the output is a draft and the skill states it must be checked before it reaches a client

Get better results
- Fill in the clinic configuration file first so letters use your clinic's plain-language standards, contact details and supervision style.
- Check your jurisdiction's student practice rule for the required sign-off wording before sending any letter, as the template is generic.
- Remove the AI-ASSISTED DRAFT label and any internal tags from the letter before it goes to the client, and have a supervising attorney review it first.
