What it does

This skill teaches an AI agent to work with Live2D Cubism models, the layered 2D character files used in animated avatars, VTuber rigs and desktop pets. Once installed, the agent can run a command-line tool (cli-anything-live2d) that offers 42 commands to inspect a model, check that its referenced files exist, lint it against best practices, diff two versions, edit motions and expressions with automatic backups, batch-change many models, and package them for deployment. Most of this works without opening the Live2D Editor.

Great for

  • Live2D artists or VTuber rig maintainers who manage many model files and want automated checks
  • Developers building web or desktop-pet apps who need to validate and package Live2D models for deployment
  • Teams batch-editing fade times, texture paths or file references across a project

Skip it if

  • People who need to draw or rig characters visually; this is a command-line tool, not a design application, and does not replace the Live2D Editor
  • Running batch edits on your only copy of a model without a separate backup, since the tool's own backups depend on the files it can access and the batch options should be previewed first with --dry-run
  • Non-Live2D 2D or 3D formats, as the skill only covers .model3.json-based Cubism models

Try asking

  • “Validate my Live2D model and tell me which referenced textures or motions are missing”
  • “Lint model.model3.json at info level and summarise the best-practice issues”
  • “Diff two versions of my character model and list what changed”
  • “Package this model and its dependencies into a zip for my web deployment”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    skills.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip skills.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip skills.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Run batch and find-replace commands with --dry-run first to preview changes before writing files.
  • Keep your own copy of the model folder under version control, in addition to the tool's auto-backups.
  • Use the --json flag on read commands when you want the agent to parse results reliably.
