What it does

Once installed, when you ask the agent for creative ideas, it deliberately generates several low-probability, distinct candidates instead of the most obvious answer, then compares them and recommends the strongest for your brief. It can also take a small set of example texts and grow it into a more varied set of synthetic examples, using a bundled script that measures how similar the examples are to each other. Multi-round idea evolution is routed to a separate skill.

Great for

  • Anyone brainstorming names, product concepts, campaign angles or illustration ideas who wants more than the first obvious answer
  • Developers or data teams who need diverse synthetic examples or test cases built from a seed set
  • People exploring technical design alternatives who want ideas across different assumptions

Skip it if

  • Problems with one correct answer, such as arithmetic or a single bug fix, where the technique adds nothing according to the skill's own notes
  • Multi-round idea evolution, which the skill says belongs to the separate HillClimb Ideate skill
  • Work where the self-reported novelty of ideas is treated as proof; the skill itself warns that model probabilities are not evidence of novelty and a human reviewer must judge output

Try asking

  • “Brainstorm products we could build from our patent portfolio”
  • “Divergent scene concepts for a blog header illustration”
  • “Expand this corpus of 20 support replies into 200 varied synthetic examples”
  • “Give me radically different solutions to reduce checkout abandonment”
Step-by-step guide: how to use BeCreative Idea GeneratorInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 12 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    BeCreative.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip BeCreative.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip BeCreative.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give a concrete brief with constraints and audience so the candidates can be judged against real criteria
  • Ask for a single-pass result; for iterative evolution of ideas, use the HillClimb Ideate skill instead
  • Review the candidates yourself before acting, since novelty and usefulness are judged by a reviewer according to the skill's own eval notes
