What it does
When installed, the agent knows how to work with Azure Container Registry, a cloud service that stores container images, using the Azure command-line tool (az acr). It can guide or run steps such as creating a registry, building images in Azure, importing images from other registries, listing and cleaning up tags, setting up sign-in for CI/CD or AKS, and checking network and geo-replication settings. It also reads separate reference files for detailed command syntax when a task calls for it.
Great for
- Developers and platform engineers who deploy containers to Azure
- Teams setting up CI/CD pipelines that push or pull images from ACR
- Operators troubleshooting ACR login, permission, or networking problems
Skip it if
- People without an Azure subscription, since every command requires an Azure account and the az CLI (no use without it)
- Environments where the agent should not change cloud resources or delete images without review, because commands such as purge, delete and admin-credential changes are destructive or sensitive
Try asking
- “Create a Standard-tier registry in my resource group and log Docker in to it”
- “Build my app image in Azure with az acr build and tag it v2”
- “Import the nginx image from Docker Hub into my ACR without pulling it locally”
- “List all tags of the api repository sorted by newest and find ones older than 30 days”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent a specific registry name, resource group and subscription so it does not guess.
- Review destructive commands (purge, delete, admin credential or network rule changes) before letting the agent run them.
- Prefer Entra identities or repository-scoped tokens over the admin user, as the skill itself recommends.
