What it does
When installed, the agent follows a structured workflow to check an AWS resource (such as a Lambda function, RDS database, ECS service, load balancer, SQS queue, DynamoDB table or API Gateway) for problems. It runs AWS CLI commands to read status, CloudWatch metrics and logs, classifies any issues by severity and likely root cause, and then proposes a phased remediation plan with CLI commands and a validation checklist. It asks for confirmation before generating the detailed plan, so it is meant to recommend fixes rather than apply them on its own.
Great for
- Engineers on call who need a quick first look at why a Lambda, RDS or ECS service is failing
- Platform or DevOps teams who want a consistent checklist for AWS health reviews
- Developers who know their AWS CLI and want help interpreting CloudWatch metrics and Logs Insights results
Skip it if
- Users without AWS CLI access or who are unfamiliar with AWS: the workflow assumes a configured, authenticated CLI and monitoring already enabled, and will not work without them
- Production incidents where the remediation commands are run blindly: some suggested actions, such as rebooting an RDS instance or changing Lambda reserved concurrency, can disrupt live traffic and should be reviewed first
- Services not listed in the workflow: coverage is limited to the resource types named in the file
Try asking
- “Check why my Lambda function payments-processor is throwing errors over the last 24 hours”
- “Diagnose the health of my RDS instance orders-db and suggest remediation steps”
- “Why are my ECS service web-api tasks not reaching the desired count?”
- “Review the SQS queue for order events and tell me if messages are backing up”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the exact resource name, type, region and account up front to avoid ambiguous matches
- Review each remediation command before running it, especially those that change configuration or reboot resources, and check the rollback steps the agent provides
- Start with read-only diagnosis and only move to the remediation phase once the findings look right
