What it does

This skill makes the agent act as an AI prompt reviewer. When you give it a prompt you plan to use with an AI model, it checks the prompt for harmful content risks, bias, privacy and prompt-injection weaknesses, and clarity, then produces a scored report and a rewritten version with the suggested safety measures. It is a text-based checklist and template; it does not run code or contact outside services.

Great for

  • Developers writing system prompts or instructions for AI features in their products
  • Teams that want a structured, repeatable checklist for reviewing prompts before release
  • Prompt writers learning which common safety and clarity problems to look for

Skip it if

  • Certifying that a prompt is safe for production: the review is the model's own judgement and can miss issues, so human and testing review is still needed
  • Security audits of full applications, since the skill only looks at the prompt text itself

Try asking

  • “Review this customer support system prompt for safety, bias and prompt-injection risks and suggest a rewrite.”
  • “Score my product description generator prompt on clarity, constraints and format, then give me an improved version.”
  • “Check this prompt for privacy risks before I send user data through it.”
Step-by-step guide: how to use AI Prompt Safety ReviewInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    ai-prompt-engineering-safety-review.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip ai-prompt-engineering-safety-review.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip ai-prompt-engineering-safety-review.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Paste the full prompt, including any system message and example outputs, so the review covers everything the model will see.
  • Ask for the rewritten prompt to be tested on sample inputs yourself, since the skill does not run tests.
  • Treat the scores as a starting point for discussion rather than an objective measure.
