What it does

Once installed, the agent can control a Chrome or Chromium browser through the agent-browser command-line tool. It can open web pages, read the clickable elements on a page, fill in forms, press buttons, scroll, extract text, save screenshots or PDFs, and keep logged-in sessions. Instead of guessing at a website, the agent works through the page step by step, re-checking it after each change.

Great for

  • Developers who want an agent to test their web app's forms and flows
  • People who need repetitive web tasks like filling forms or pulling text from pages
  • Anyone who wants screenshots or PDFs of a live web page

Skip it if

  • Sensitive logins or payments on shared machines, because the skill can save login state and fill in passwords (risk of credential exposure)
  • Scraping sites that forbid automation in their terms of service or robots rules
  • Setups without Node/npm and Chromium, since the tool cannot run without them

Try asking

  • “Open example.com/signup, fill in the form with my test email, and tell me what the confirmation page says”
  • “Take a full-page screenshot of our pricing page and save it as a PDF”
  • “Log into our staging dashboard once, save the session, and extract the table of orders”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Agent BrowserInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    agent-browser.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip agent-browser.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip agent-browser.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Ask the agent to re-take a snapshot after each page change, since element references go stale after navigation
  • Use a named session or profile for logins instead of typing passwords into the chat, and avoid storing state files in shared folders
  • Specify the exact URL and the goal, such as 'fill the contact form and stop before submitting', so the agent does not take irreversible actions
