What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent the house rules for creating or editing skills in the agentmemory project. When installed, the agent knows how the SKILL.md file should be structured (frontmatter, description wording, section order, line limits, and style rules such as no emojis or em-dashes) and that generated facts should come from a generator command rather than being typed by hand. It is a reference for contributors, not a tool that changes the user's own work directly.
Great for
- Contributors adding a new skill to the agentmemory repository
- Maintainers reviewing skill pull requests for format consistency
- Anyone restructuring an existing agentmemory skill folder
Skip it if
- General users who only want to use agentmemory memory features; this skill does not provide memory functions
- Projects outside agentmemory, since the rules are specific to its directory layout and generator (npm run skills:gen)
Try asking
- “Add a new skill for agentmemory that covers the connect adapters, following the house format”
- “Review this pull request's SKILL.md for compliance with the under-100-lines and Use when rules”
- “Restructure the existing agentmemory skill so reference tables move into REFERENCE.md”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Point the agent at the repository's generator and check commands (npm run skills:gen and skills:check) so it does not hand-edit generated tables.
- Ask the agent to run the checklist at the end of SKILL.md against your draft before submitting.
- Pair it with the repository's other skills so the new skill's See also section cross-links correctly.
