What it does
This is a reference card that teaches an AI agent the list of memory tools provided by the agentmemory server (save, search, recall, sessions, knowledge graph, structured slots, governance and health checks). With it installed, the agent knows which tool to choose for a task, which parameters to pass, and how to handle budgeted recall results. It does not itself store or fetch any memories; the separately running agentmemory server does that.
Great for
- Developers wiring agentmemory into Claude Code, Pi, OMP or another MCP-capable agent who want the agent to use the right tools
- Users who ask an agent what agentmemory can do and want an accurate answer
- Anyone debugging an unclear tool name or argument in agentmemory calls
Skip it if
- People who want a finished memory feature without running the agentmemory server; the skill only describes tools that must already be connected
- Setups using a native memory provider, since it may expose fewer tools under different names, so the skill's list may not match (the file says to rely on the live tool inventory instead)
Try asking
- “Which agentmemory tool should I use to find what we decided about the auth module last week?”
- “What parameters does memory_save need, and which are required?”
- “Why did my memory_recall return matched_count 0 with nothing in the results?”
- “List what agentmemory can do through MCP for governance and health checks.”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip agentmemory-mcp-tools.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip agentmemory-mcp-tools.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Connect the agentmemory MCP server first; this skill only documents tools and cannot run them alone.
- Check REFERENCE.md for exact parameter names before calling a tool, since the skill tells the agent to do so.
- The skill is marked user-invocable: false, so it is loaded by the agent when relevant rather than run directly by you.
