What it does
This is a set of instructions that tells an AI agent how to design a course as a hands-on workshop rather than a lecture. Slides become short task briefs, exercises alternate with explanations, quizzes check what the learner just did, narration asks questions instead of explaining, and the course ends with a small project that combines the pieces. It is a style guide for the OpenMAIC course-generation runtime and does not run anything itself.
Great for
- Educators or trainers who want learners to practise a skill instead of watching explanations
- Anyone building a bootcamp or workshop session inside the OpenMAIC course tool
- Course designers who want a consistent interactive teaching style across pages
Skip it if
- Systematic explanatory courses or history/appreciation topics with nothing to practise, since the skill itself says to use lecture-style there instead
- Occupational safety or procedure training with tools and safety gates, which the skill says belongs to the vocational style
Try asking
- “Turn this Python basics topic into a hands-on workshop with exercises every couple of pages”
- “Make a 45-minute workshop on spreadsheet formulas where learners build a small budget tool at the end”
- “Design a bootcamp session on prompt writing with short slides and interactive experiments”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip workshop-style.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip workshop-style.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Name the subject and the final project you want in your request so the agent can plan exercises that build toward it.
- Expect the output to depend on the OpenMAIC runtime; the skill's rules only take effect if the agent passes them into each page's brief and narration fields.
- Review generated narration for length, since the style asks for one or two sentence lines and the agent may drift.
