What it does

It lets the agent keep a personal notebook of the product and design sources you use often, such as product URLs, Figma files, screenshots, Storybook, design tokens and brand assets. Once saved, the agent reads this notebook at the start of Product Design tasks so its ideas, prototypes, audits and critiques match your product rather than starting from scratch. It also walks you through setup and can show you what it currently remembers.

Great for

  • Designers who repeatedly reuse the same Figma files, brand assets and product links across sessions
  • Teams using the MiMo Product Design plugin who want consistent grounding for prototypes and critiques
  • Anyone who wants the agent to remember design preferences like browser or share targets

Skip it if

  • Storing secrets or credentials: the skill's own rules forbid saving API keys, tokens or customer data, and the scripts write plain-text files that could expose anything you put in them
  • Environments without shell access or a writable Codex home directory, because saved context will not persist and the skill tells the agent to say so

Try asking

  • “Set up Product Design and save my product URL and Figma file for future sessions”
  • “See what Product Design remembers about my product”
  • “Save these three screenshots of our checkout flow as reference images”
  • “Update my saved design system and Storybook links”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Product Design User ContextInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 6 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    user-context.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip user-context.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip user-context.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Save a few high-value references rather than every URL you own, since the skill itself recommends keeping context curated
  • Give screenshots descriptive names before saving, because future runs rely on filenames to understand what each image shows
  • Review user-context.md after saving and remove anything sensitive before relying on it
