What it does
When installed, the agent gets a reference guide for setting up Turborepo, a tool that speeds up builds in monorepos (single repositories holding many related apps and packages). It helps write turbo.json pipeline files that define task order and what gets cached, and shows how to share a cache across a team or in CI so unchanged work is not repeated. It also includes templates for filtering builds to changed packages and a demo of a self-hosted cache server.
Great for
- Developers setting up a new Turborepo monorepo
- Teams wanting faster CI builds by sharing a remote cache
- Engineers debugging why Turborepo cache misses occur
Skip it if
- Projects that do not use a monorepo or Turborepo, since the guidance is specific to that tool
- Production cache infrastructure: the self-hosted cache template is a demo with no real authentication, and the file itself warns against exposing it, so use a managed or properly secured cache instead
Try asking
- “Set up a turbo.json pipeline for my Next.js monorepo with build, test and lint tasks”
- “Configure GitHub Actions to use Turborepo remote caching with TURBO_TOKEN”
- “Only build packages changed since main using Turborepo filters”
- “Why is my Turborepo build getting cache misses?”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent your existing package.json and folder layout so the turbo.json matches your real workspace names.
- Store TURBO_TOKEN as a CI secret rather than pasting it into files or chat.
- Check the agent's pipeline outputs and env lists carefully, since missing entries cause wrong cache hits or misses.
