What it does
When installed, the agent follows a test-first routine whenever you add features, fix bugs, or refactor: it drafts user journeys and test cases, runs them to confirm they fail, writes the minimal code to pass, then refactors and checks coverage. It also detects which test runner your project uses (npm, pnpm, yarn, or Bun's built-in runner) and covers unit, integration, and browser end-to-end tests.
Great for
- Developers who want AI-written code backed by tests
- Teams on JavaScript or TypeScript projects using Jest, Vitest, Bun test, or Playwright
- Anyone fixing bugs who wants a regression test written first
Skip it if
- Quick throwaway scripts or prototypes where a full test-first cycle adds overhead
- Non-JavaScript projects, since the examples and runner matrix are Node and Bun focused
- Non-developers, since it assumes familiarity with test runners and coverage reports
Try asking
- “Add a search endpoint to my API using TDD”
- “Fix the login bug by writing a failing test first, then the fix”
- “Refactor the payment module and keep coverage at 80% or higher”
- “Create a new React button component with unit tests”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Point the agent at your existing package.json so it picks the correct test command rather than guessing
- Review the failing tests before letting the agent implement, since weak tests produce false confidence
- Expect the 80% coverage target to be a goal you verify, not a guarantee of test quality
