What it does

This skill tells an AI agent to run a multi-stage research project end to end: search for ideas in a research direction, plan and run experiments, get repeated automated reviews and fixes, then write up results (optionally a paper PDF). It works by chaining other sub-workflows (idea discovery, experiment bridge, auto-review loop, paper writing) and tracking progress in state files so a run can resume. The provided SKILL.md is mostly orchestration rules; the actual behaviour depends on other skills and files it references that are not included here.

Great for

  • Researchers who want an agent to drive a long literature-to-experiments workflow with review checkpoints
  • Developers building or studying multi-stage autonomous agent pipelines
  • Students exploring how automated research tooling is structured

Skip it if

  • Users expecting a quick single answer or a finished, verified paper: the pipeline can run for hours and its reviews are model-generated, not peer review (reason: unverified results and claims)
  • Projects where experiments touch shared compute, credentials or live systems without supervision (reason: the skill can launch experiments and schedulers autonomously)

Try asking

  • “Run the full pipeline on this topic: efficient sparse attention for long-context models, with AUTO_PROCEED true”
  • “Start from a broad direction and stop for my approval at each checkpoint (AUTO_PROCEED false)”
  • “Resume my previous research run from the last completed stage”
  • “Generate NARRATIVE_REPORT.md for my project but skip automatic paper writing”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Full Research PipelineInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    research-pipeline.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip research-pipeline.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip research-pipeline.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Set AUTO_PROCEED to false for your first run so you can review each checkpoint before experiments start.
  • Keep ARXIV_DOWNLOAD false unless you need PDFs, to limit downloads.
  • Check that the referenced sub-skills and reviewer backend are installed before starting, since this file alone does not do the work.
