What it does
When you ask an AI agent to just build something (for example, 'implement X for me'), this skill makes it first produce a minimal end-to-end version that runs, then add features one at a time. Every decision the request left open is written into an assumption ledger before the code depending on it is written, so you can see what the agent guessed. It can also be set to ask you before making certain ambiguous choices.
Great for
- Developers who want a quick working prototype from a plain description of a capability
- Students exploring an idea who want the agent to make reasonable choices and document them
- Anyone who wants an audit trail of assumptions behind generated code
Skip it if
- Tasks that need a specific experiment plan to be run, since this skill is for building rather than running experiments (use the experiment tools instead)
- Production or security-sensitive code without human review, because the skill runs autonomously and its self-checks may be same-family reviews that cannot fully verify correctness
- Requests where you want to be consulted on every decision, unless you set the ask option to semantic and remain available to reply
Try asking
- “Implement a CSV parser with a command-line entry point, then add error reporting”
- “给我实现一个简单的待办事项 API,先跑通再加功能”
- “Build this feature: a retry wrapper for HTTP calls, prototype then extend”
- “Prototype a text-summarisation tool and add support for multiple file formats step by step”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip research-implement-feature.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip research-implement-feature.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Describe the capability clearly and state any constraints (language, libraries, input and output format) up front to reduce assumptions.
- Review the assumption ledger before relying on the output, especially rows marked as defaults or deferred to the author.
- Use the ask option set to semantic if you want to approve ambiguous decisions before they are coded.
