What it does

When you ask the agent to turn an existing HTML analytics report into a shareable Google document, this skill tells it to run a bundled Python helper. The helper parses the report, builds a Word (DOCX) file that keeps headings, tables, charts, links and callouts, and checks the result against the source. The agent then uploads that file to Google Drive through a connector and returns the link, after checking the uploaded file matches the original report.

Great for

  • Analytics teams who need to share a finished HTML report with colleagues as a Drive file
  • Users who already have a local or blob-hosted HTML report and want a Word-based copy without rebuilding it by hand

Skip it if

  • Creating new reports from raw data: the skill only converts an existing HTML report and is explicitly narrow in scope
  • Reports containing sensitive customer data being uploaded to Drive without review: the skill uploads to Google Drive, so check sharing settings and content first

Try asking

  • “Convert /absolute/path/to/q3-report.html into a Google Drive document I can share with the finance team”
  • “Turn this blob-hosted analytics report into a DOCX and upload it to Drive”
  • “Make a shareable Drive link for the report produced by build-report HTML mode”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Report to Google DocInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 14 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    report-to-google-doc.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip report-to-google-doc.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip report-to-google-doc.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give an absolute path to the HTML report, and retrieve remote reports first so the helper gets a local file
  • Check the preflight_checks.json status is passed before asking the agent to upload, and review the uploaded file's sharing settings
