What it does

Once installed, the agent writes a structured validation plan for a feature change, so a reviewer can check the running app and decide pass or fail without asking the author. Each criterion is a single Given/When/Then statement, and the plan must cover the golden path, empty and boundary inputs, error states, concurrency, performance limits, backward compatibility, and telemetry. It also requires evidence (screenshots, console output, timings) for every pass and reports results as Pass, Fail, or Blocked.

Great for

  • QA engineers who need a written, reviewable test plan for a user-facing change
  • Engineers preparing a feature or pull request for manual verification before release
  • Product or release owners who want a consistent pre-release smoke checklist

Skip it if

  • Changes that are only unit-tested, such as internal refactors or renames, where the skill itself says acceptance criteria are unnecessary churn
  • Automated test code generation, since the skill focuses on manual feature-level validation rather than writing test scripts or API contract tests

Try asking

  • “Write acceptance criteria and a manual validation plan for our new CSV export feature”
  • “Review this pull request's user-visible changes and produce a QA pass/fail plan with evidence fields”
  • “Create a pre-cut smoke plan for the release candidate covering golden path and error states”
Step-by-step guide: how to use QA Acceptance PlansInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    qa-acceptance.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip qa-acceptance.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip qa-acceptance.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give the agent a clear description of the feature and its user-visible behavior so it can write concrete Given/When/Then criteria.
  • Ask the agent to mark must-pass criteria separately from nice-to-have ones, as the skill recommends.
  • Plan to gather the evidence yourself: the skill requires screenshots, logs, or timings, and the agent cannot run the app for you based on this file alone.
