What it does

This skill tells an AI agent how to open a new 'case' in Paperclip, an agent-orchestration tool, from a plain user request. The agent is directed to read the Paperclip case guide, then create and start the case using Paperclip's native create_case action or its REST API equivalent. It also asks the agent to write a Mermaid state diagram and explanation of the workflow, and to report back the case and task links plus the kickoff state.

Great for

  • Developers already running the Paperclip platform who want agents to open cases from chat requests
  • Teams documenting case workflows who want a diagram generated alongside the case

Skip it if

  • People who do not use Paperclip: the skill depends on its case guide and API, so it will not help on its own
  • Anyone expecting it to work standalone outside the repository: the referenced guide must be reachable, and the file is not included in this skill folder

Try asking

  • “Create a case from this request: onboard the new client and kick off the first review task”
  • “Open a Paperclip case for the vendor contract renewal and show me the case and task links”
  • “Start a case for the bug triage request and include the workflow state diagram”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    create-case.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip create-case.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip create-case.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Make sure the agent can reach a running Paperclip instance and has credentials for its API before asking for a case.
  • Review the case and task links returned by the agent to confirm the correct case was created.
  • Keep the original request specific so the initial agent task matches your intent.
