What it does

When you give your AI assistant a list of feature ideas, this skill tells it to score each one on impact, effort, risk and fit with your product goals, then recommend a ranked top 5. For each pick it explains why, what trade-offs were considered, and what was deprioritized. It can also read a spreadsheet or backlog file you provide and suggest scoring methods such as Opportunity Score, ICE or RICE.

Great for

  • Product managers deciding what to build next from a long backlog
  • Founders or small teams making scope decisions for a release
  • Anyone who wants a structured, written rationale for ranking product ideas

Skip it if

  • Decisions that depend on real customer data the assistant cannot see, since scores built on guesses can look more precise than they are
  • Highly regulated or safety-critical prioritization where a formal, audited process is required, because the skill is a lightweight framework guide

Try asking

  • “Prioritize these 12 feature ideas for our onboarding redesign goal and give me the top 5 with reasoning.”
  • “Read this backlog spreadsheet and rank the features by impact versus effort.”
  • “Help me score these product ideas with ICE and tell me what we should deprioritize.”
  • “Make a prioritization table for our Q3 feature ideas and save it as markdown.”

Get better results

  • State your product objective and success metrics up front so the ranking reflects what matters to you.
  • Provide customer data or opportunity assessments if you have them, so Impact is based on evidence rather than estimates.
  • Refers to a separate prioritization-frameworks skill for framework selection; install it too if you want that extra guidance.
