What it does

Once installed, the agent can look at a pull request review comment and say whether it sounds polite or not. It is limited strictly to tone: the skill tells the agent not to discuss code risk or technical correctness. It is a small demo piece from a feedback-loop example in the Cognee project, not a general code reviewer.

Great for

  • Teams who want a quick tone check on review comments before posting them
  • Developers exploring how a narrow, single-purpose agent skill is written
  • Maintainers building example feedback loops for agent evaluation

Skip it if

  • Checking whether code is correct or safe, because the skill explicitly excludes technical judgment
  • Detailed or formal style review, since the file gives no criteria for what counts as polite beyond the description

Try asking

  • “Is this PR review comment polite: "Why would you do it this way? It's wrong."”
  • “Judge the tone of this code review comment before I post it.”
  • “Does this review feedback sound polite or harsh?”
Step-by-step guide: how to use PR Comment Politeness EvaluatorInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    pr-comment-evaluator.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip pr-comment-evaluator.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip pr-comment-evaluator.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Paste the exact comment text you want judged so the agent evaluates the wording itself.
  • Expect only a politeness verdict; ask a separate question or tool for technical review.
  • The SKILL.md has no scoring rubric, so results depend on the underlying model's judgment of politeness.
