What it does
Once installed, the agent can turn a paper outline and research notes into LaTeX draft sections for a target academic venue such as ICLR, NeurIPS, or an IEEE journal. It follows the venue's page limits and formatting, can fetch real BibTeX entries from DBLP or CrossRef to reduce invented citations, and can optionally mirror the structure of a reference paper. It is part of a larger research-automation workflow that expects earlier planning and figure steps to have produced input files.
Great for
- Researchers who already have a PAPER_PLAN.md outline and want a first LaTeX draft
- Graduate students preparing a conference or journal submission under a page limit
- Users of the wider Auto-claude-code-research-in-sleep workflow who run it after /paper-plan and /paper-figure
Skip it if
- Users without an outline or research notes, since the skill asks for a plan first and drafts from it; the output needs expert review for accuracy and originality
- Submitting drafts unchecked, because generated prose and citations can be wrong and the skill says it may mark unverified references with [VERIFY] markers
- Writing that must be fully original in wording when the optional style-ref feature is used, since it is meant only for structural mimicry
Try asking
- “写论文 for section 3 based on my PAPER_PLAN.md, targeting NeurIPS”
- “Draft LaTeX for the introduction and related work from my narrative report”
- “Write paper for an IEEE_JOURNAL submission with a 12-page limit”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Prepare PAPER_PLAN.md and NARRATIVE_REPORT.md first so the draft is grounded in your own claims and results.
- Set the venue and anonymity options explicitly, since page-limit rules differ between ML conferences and IEEE venues.
- Verify every citation and number yourself, even when DBLP_BIBTEX is enabled, and review any [VERIFY] markers before submitting.
