What it does
Once installed, the agent follows this skill's guidance when you ask it to write Kubernetes configuration files. Kubernetes is a system for running containerized apps, and its manifests are YAML files describing what should run and how it is exposed. The skill gives the agent starter templates for Deployments, Services and ConfigMaps, plus best-practice rules such as setting resource limits, health checks, pinned image tags and non-root security settings.
Great for
- Developers who need a first draft of Kubernetes manifests for a new service
- Teams wanting consistent, security-minded defaults across their YAML files
- People learning which settings Kubernetes best practice expects
Skip it if
- Production clusters without human review: the generated YAML is guidance-based and must be validated with dry-run and tooling before applying, since the files do not show automated checks
- Secrets handling: the description mentions Secrets, but the bundled templates shown are only Deployment, Service and ConfigMap, so the agent may need extra care with credentials
Try asking
- “Create a Deployment and Service manifest for a Node.js API with 3 replicas and health checks”
- “Generate a ConfigMap for application settings for my Kubernetes staging environment”
- “Review my existing Deployment YAML and suggest production-grade security context and resource limits”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent your app's image name, port, and environment so it can fill in the templates accurately
- Always validate the output with kubectl apply --dry-run=client before applying it to a cluster
- Ask for the reasoning behind each setting so you can check it against your own cluster policies
