What it does
It teaches an AI agent how to build the visual effects for an ice or frost game skill in Three.js, the web 3D library. Frost is grown procedurally from a seed point so it looks like real frost, ice spikes are rendered with physically inspired light behaviour, and blizzards, mist and snow floors are drawn with shaders. It also ships two reusable JavaScript modules and a standalone demo page that opens from disk.
Great for
- Game developers building ice or frost skill effects for a Three.js or WebGL project
- Technical artists who want procedural frost and ice rather than painted textures
- Developers studying a hand-written WebGL bloom, composite and FXAA pipeline
Skip it if
- Projects not using Three.js or WebGL, since the modules depend on that stack (not a risk, just not useful)
- Anyone who only needs a 2D icon or static ice image, as this is a real-time 3D effects system
- Running the demo or modules on untrusted input: the code is not reviewed here and the demo loads a bundled Three.js build from the local folder
Try asking
- “Build a frost nova skill where frost grows outward from the caster's hand across the ground”
- “Add erupting ice spikes that crack along visible planes and shatter into tumbling pieces”
- “Create a blizzard column with helical powder and a freezing mist bank that parts around ice”
- “Set up the frost-energy module in my Three.js scene and grow a frost pattern from a seed point”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip ice-frost-skill-vfx.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip ice-frost-skill-vfx.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Name the element and scale first (frost nova, ice wall, blizzard) so the agent picks the right module functions and sizes
- Ask for the failure-mode switch or debug view when calibrating mist or ice, since the skill documents these for tuning
- Keep the frost-growth and frost-energy files side by side, because frost-energy imports frost-growth by relative path
