What it does
This skill teaches Claude a specific documentation convention called HADS (Human-AI Document Standard). When asked to write, convert, or check technical docs, Claude tags content as authoritative facts, context notes, known bugs with fixes, or unverified claims, and adds a short manifest telling AI readers which parts to read first. It is plain Markdown with no special tooling; the skill only changes how Claude structures and reads these files.
Great for
- Developers who want READMEs or API docs that AI assistants can parse efficiently
- Teams converting existing Markdown documentation into a consistent, token-efficient structure
- Anyone who wants Claude to summarize a HADS document by reading only its key blocks
Skip it if
- Documentation that must follow another house style, since this imposes its own block tags and structure
- Users expecting an automated validator: the skill's validator is marked as planned and not included in this release
Try asking
- “Write HADS documentation for this REST API”
- “Convert this README to HADS format”
- “Is this document valid HADS?”
- “Summarize this HADS document using only its SPEC and BUG blocks”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Provide the existing document or API details up front so Claude can extract facts into SPEC blocks accurately
- Ask Claude to flag uncertain statements as [?] blocks rather than presenting them as facts
- Keep the manifest in every document so AI readers know which blocks to prioritize
