What it does

Once installed, the AI agent follows a structured four-phase process when you ask it to design an AI agent or multi-agent system on Google Cloud. It gathers your requirements and asks clarifying questions, recommends a single or multi-agent pattern, maps components to Google Cloud products, and produces a Mermaid architecture diagram, deployment instructions and a validation plan. Phases are gated on your confirmation at each step.

Great for

  • Engineers planning an agentic system on Google Cloud who want a structured design and deployment plan
  • Teams that need a written architecture, product mapping and validation checklist before building
  • Developers who want the agent to ask clarifying requirements questions instead of guessing

Skip it if

  • General Google Cloud architecture that is not about AI agents; the SKILL.md points to a different skill for that
  • Narrow tasks about a single Google Cloud product with no agent context
  • Anyone expecting it to deploy to a live project automatically; the files describe generating instructions and templates, and the agent must still run any gcloud commands it proposes, which can change real cloud resources

Try asking

  • “Design a multi-agent customer support system on Google Cloud for a retail company with 50k monthly chats”
  • “Help me plan an agent that answers questions from our internal Confluence docs, deployed on Google Cloud”
  • “Propose an architecture diagram for a single-agent research assistant with strict data residency in the EU”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Build and Deploy Google Cloud AI AgentsInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 8 original files, the Apache-2.0 licence and an attribution note.

    google-cloud-solution-build-deploy-agents.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip google-cloud-solution-build-deploy-agents.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip google-cloud-solution-build-deploy-agents.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Give the agent your functional and non-functional requirements (security, compliance, cost, latency) up front to skip the discovery questions
  • Review and approve each phase before moving on, especially the architecture and implementation plan
  • Check any gcloud commands the agent generates against your own project and permissions before running them
