What it does
When installed, the agent acts as a structured brainstorming partner for planning software features in the Elephant & Goldfish Model project. It asks you open-ended questions over several turns until the problem and its boundaries are clear, then gets critiques from several reviewer perspectives (such as cost, usability, migration, and maintenance). The result is a written concept brief file, not a chat essay, which you can share with peers or pass to the companion /egm-draft skill for a fuller design.
Great for
- Engineers on the EGM project who want to pressure-test a feature idea before writing a design doc
- Teams that want a written RFC summary produced from an early, vague concept
Skip it if
- People who want a quick chat brainstorm with no files created, since the skill forces output into an artifact file and blocks chat-based summaries
- Non-technical users or projects unrelated to EGM, since the lenses and workflow assume that codebase and its conventions
- Use where the agent has no subagent tool: the skill says it will stop rather than run a same-context review, so the workflow may not complete
Try asking
- “Help me brainstorm a caching layer for EGM's model serving and stress-test it”
- “Turn my rough idea for a new CLI flag into a concepts brief I can share for review”
- “Run a multi-lens review of this feature concept before I write the design with /egm-draft”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Start with a one-paragraph description of the problem, not a solution, so the clarifying questions have something to work from
- Expect the agent to write concepts_brief.md to your working directory and give you a link rather than printing the brief in chat
- Answer the readiness check explicitly; the agent will not spawn reviewers until you confirm
