What it does

This is a reference guide, written in Spanish, that teaches an AI agent recommended ways to structure Django web projects. Once installed, the agent follows its patterns when you ask for help with Django: splitting settings into base, development and production files, designing custom user and product models, writing reusable query helpers that avoid repeated database lookups, and configuring security options such as secure cookies and HTTPS redirects for production. It contains only instructions and code examples; it does not run anything by itself.

Great for

  • Developers building or reorganising a Django or Django REST Framework project
  • Teams who want consistent project layout and production security settings
  • Developers learning Django best practices for models and querysets

Skip it if

  • Non-programmers, because the content assumes working knowledge of Python and Django and the agent still needs supervision to apply it correctly
  • Projects that use a different framework such as Flask or FastAPI, since the patterns do not apply
  • Copying the example settings blindly, since placeholders such as ALLOWED_HOSTS and the log file path must be adapted to your environment

Try asking

  • “Set up a new Django project with split settings for development, testing and production”
  • “Design a custom user model with email login and a Product model with indexes and constraints”
  • “Review my Django queryset code for N+1 query problems and suggest select_related or prefetch_related”
  • “Create a Django REST Framework API layout with serializers, permissions and filters”

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 1 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    django-patterns.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip django-patterns.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip django-patterns.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Ask the agent to adapt the layout to your existing project rather than recreating it from scratch
  • Always review generated production settings, especially secret keys, allowed hosts and logging paths, before deploying
  • Run the agent's suggested migrations and tests in a development environment first
