What it does
Once installed, the agent works through a structured process to choose which success metrics a team should track: it clarifies the decision, gathers business context, proposes candidate outcome, driver and guardrail metrics, compares them, and recommends a small set with definitions, calculation methods and caveats. It can also suggest provisional targets with stated assumptions. It hands off to other skills for reconciling existing metrics, gathering context or building reports, and it is designed to ask for missing data rather than guess.
Great for
- Product or analytics leads defining success metrics for a new feature or launch
- Business teams redesigning a KPI framework or choosing guardrail metrics
- Analysts who need a documented measurement plan with targets and caveats
Skip it if
- Reconciling existing dashboards or conflicting metric definitions, which the skill says should go to a data-quality skill first
- Situations where the agent has no access to the data sources it would need, since the skill tells it to stop and ask rather than substitute weaker data
- Setting firm numerical targets without real baseline data, as the skill itself advises presenting only provisional ranges in that case
Try asking
- “Help me define the primary KPI and two guardrails for our new onboarding flow”
- “Redesign our subscription business KPI framework around retention and revenue quality”
- “What driver metrics should we track weekly to inform our growth review?”
- “Propose provisional targets for activation rate given our last six months of data”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent the decision the metrics must support and how often the team reviews them, so the recommendation fits the cadence.
- Connect the actual data sources up front; the skill relies on live reads to verify targets and definitions.
- Ask for provisional ranges first if historical data is thin, and request the measurement you still need before committing to firm targets.
