What it does
When installed, this skill gives the agent a reference playbook for reducing cloud bills across AWS, Azure, GCP and Oracle Cloud. The agent can then suggest right-sizing resources, applying cost-allocation tags, choosing reserved or spot/preemptible capacity, adding lifecycle rules to storage, and setting budget alerts, with example Terraform snippets. It is guidance and sample code; it does not connect to your cloud account or change anything on its own.
Great for
- Engineers or platform teams reviewing a multi-cloud or single-cloud bill
- Teams that want a checklist of common savings levers and governance practices
- People writing Terraform for tagging, budgets or S3 lifecycle rules who want a starting template
Skip it if
- Exact savings forecasts: the discount percentages are generic figures copied from vendor marketing and may be outdated or not match your contract, region or usage
- Production changes made without review: the Terraform examples use placeholder values (such as a hard-coded AMI ID, a fixed 2024 budget start date and example email addresses) and would need checking before use, and automated resizing or shutdown could cause outages
Try asking
- “Review this Terraform repo and suggest where we can cut AWS spend without hurting reliability”
- “Draft a tagging policy for cost allocation across our Azure subscriptions”
- “Create a monthly budget alert in Terraform with an 80% email threshold”
- “Compare reserved instances, savings plans and spot for our batch workloads on GCP”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give the agent your actual usage data or billing export so its suggestions are based on your workloads rather than the generic percentages in the skill
- Review every generated Terraform block for placeholder values, regions and naming before running terraform plan or apply
- Ask for a list of recommendations with risks listed for each, so savings are weighed against performance and reliability
