What it does
When installed, the agent reviews code changes (diffs, pull requests, or code pasted into chat) against five areas: correctness, readability and simplicity, architecture, security, and performance. It also checks that changes are a reasonable size and suggests specific restructurings rather than only pointing out problems. The file is written as guidance for the agent's reasoning; it does not itself run any tools.
Great for
- Developers who want a consistent, thorough checklist for reviewing their own or teammates' code
- Teams reviewing code produced by AI agents or other models before it is merged
- Reviewers who want review comments that propose concrete fixes
Skip it if
- Replacing human sign-off on security-critical or production code, since the agent's review can miss issues and the skill gives no tool-based verification (reason: it is guidance only)
- Non-programmers who need code explained from scratch (reason: the skill assumes familiarity with software engineering terms)
Try asking
- “Review this pull request diff and tell me what should block the merge”
- “Check this function I wrote for edge cases and error handling before I open a PR”
- “Review the code another agent just generated for this feature and flag design smells”
- “Is this 1,200-line change reasonable? Suggest how to split it”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Paste the diff or point the agent to the changed files, and say what the change is supposed to do so it can check correctness against the spec.
- Ask for the review by axis (for example, only security) if you want a shorter, focused result.
- Treat the output as a first-pass review; keep a human reviewer for final approval, especially for security-sensitive changes.
