What it does
When installed, the agent gains guided knowledge of Google Cloud Run, a platform that runs web apps, scheduled or batch tasks, and background workers without you managing servers. The agent can walk you through choosing a resource type, enabling the needed Google Cloud APIs, granting the right IAM roles, and deploying a container image or source code with gcloud commands. It also follows Google's required rules, such as making code listen on the injected PORT and reading attribution guidance before running commands.
Great for
- Developers deploying an HTTP API or web app to Google Cloud Run
- Teams setting up scheduled or batch jobs on Cloud Run
- Engineers who need a background worker that pulls from a queue such as Pub/Sub or Kafka
Skip it if
- Users without a Google Cloud project or billing account, since the commands need one (the skill cannot create them)
- Deployments that must avoid public access without reviewing the --allow-unauthenticated flag shown in examples, which makes services publicly reachable
Try asking
- “Deploy this Node.js app folder to Cloud Run in us-central1 from source code”
- “Set up a Cloud Run job that runs every night and explain the IAM roles I need”
- “Create a Cloud Run worker pool that consumes messages from our Pub/Sub subscription”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Review every gcloud command before the agent runs it, especially those using --quiet, --allow-unauthenticated, or IAM policy bindings that change project permissions.
- Name your target project and region explicitly so deployments do not land in an unexpected place.
- Choose the resource type first: services for HTTP, jobs for run-to-completion tasks, worker pools for always-on pull-based consumers.
