What it does
This skill gives an AI coding agent the project-specific rules for working on the ClawHub repository's Convex backend (a hosted database and server-function platform). Once installed, when the agent edits Convex code or runs Convex commands, it first reads the managed Convex guidelines, names the target environment (local, dev or prod), and routes the task to the right companion skill for performance, migrations or data retention. It also tells the agent how to run tests, handle a few known command errors, and keep skill statistics fields consistent.
Great for
- Developers contributing to the ClawHub repository who use an AI agent for Convex changes
- Maintainers reviewing Convex migrations, query performance or stat-field changes and wanting consistent conventions
Skip it if
- Projects that do not use Convex or are not the ClawHub codebase, since the rules are repository-specific and the skill points to companion skills that must also be installed
- Production deployments run without human review: the skill allows direct production deploys when explicitly requested, which can change live data if misused
Try asking
- “Add a new Convex query for listing skills and follow ClawHub's indexing and pagination rules”
- “Plan a production backfill of a skill table using the migration boundaries”
- “Add a new migrated stat field using the dual-write pattern and a cursor-based backfill”
- “Run a Convex function against the dev deployment after pushing my changes”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip clawhub-convex.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip clawhub-convex.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Tell the agent which target (local, dev or prod) you intend before it runs any Convex command, and confirm before any production action
- Ask the agent to check deployment health with convex insights and logs before restructuring a slow query, so changes are based on measured data
- Install the companion skills it routes to; without them the agent has fewer specific instructions
