What it does
Once installed, the agent can copy your local job application tracker (company, role, status, score) into a Notion database you own, as a read-only snapshot. It can also search that Notion database for saved job listings that have URLs and add them to your local job pipeline. Your local file data/applications.md remains the main record; Notion is an optional extra copy.
Great for
- Job seekers who already use Notion and want their application pipeline visible there
- Developers who want to extend the career-ops tool with a sync backend
- Users who keep leads in a Notion database and want them imported into career-ops
Skip it if
- Anyone who wants Notion to be their primary tracker, since the skill treats it only as a mirror and only pushes one way on export
- Users who don't want to share a Notion integration token or parent page ID with a local script, because it requires storing NOTION_ACCESS_TOKEN in .env
Try asking
- “Run a dry-run preview of exporting my application tracker to Notion”
- “Export my current job applications to my Notion Applications database”
- “Search my Notion database for platform engineering roles and add them to my pipeline”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Run export with --dry-run first to confirm exactly what will be written to your Notion workspace
- Use a Notion integration limited to only the Career Ops parent page so it cannot read other workspace content
- Keep the Notion token in .env only and never commit it to version control
