What it does
This skill teaches an AI agent how to search the BGPT scientific paper service by topic or DOI and return structured evidence, such as the experiments, reported statistics, scope, and limitations extracted from full papers, rather than only titles and abstracts. It also tells the agent how to keep track of DOIs, query history, and truncation or legacy-record warnings so the evidence can be traced back to the source. Installing the skill does not connect to BGPT by itself; the user must configure the BGPT remote MCP server in their host app.
Great for
- Researchers doing literature reviews who want experimental details beyond abstracts
- Students building a traceable evidence table for a question
- Analysts looking up a specific paper by DOI and checking its reported findings
Skip it if
- Formal systematic reviews or risk-of-bias assessment, since the skill states the records are not a complete search or validated quality appraisal
- Work with confidential or unpublished data, because queries are sent to the external bgpt.pro service
Try asking
- “Find recent primary studies on CRISPR delivery to neurons and summarise their reported experiments”
- “Look up the paper with DOI 10.1016/j.ymeth.2015.10.014 and list its central claim and evidence”
- “Compare the evidence across five search variants on a research question and deduplicate by DOI”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Verify sample sizes, units and statistics against the original paper before using them, because extracted records are bounded and may be truncated or legacy-format.
- Store the API key in the host's credential storage or a local header file rather than pasting it into prompts or tool calls.
- Use the filter arguments (days_back, study_type) instead of putting years into the search query, and treat an empty result as inconclusive.
