What it does
When installed, the agent uses a structured framework based on Geoffrey Moore's 'Crossing the Chasm' idea of a beachhead market. You give it your product and the candidate customer groups, and it scores each group on four criteria: how acute the pain is, whether they will pay, whether you could win a large share of them, and whether they will refer others. It then recommends a primary first segment and outlines a 90-day acquisition plan and later expansion steps. It is a thinking and planning aid; it does not look up market data itself based on these files.
Great for
- Product managers or founders choosing a first customer segment for a launch
- Go-to-market teams who need a structured way to compare several target markets
- Students learning beachhead market strategy
Skip it if
- Teams that already have strong evidence on one segment and only need execution help, since the framework adds process without new data
- Decisions that depend on real market numbers: the skill does not fetch market data, so outputs are only as good as the inputs you provide and should be checked against real research
Try asking
- “Help me choose a first beachhead segment for my B2B invoicing tool from these three customer groups: freelancers, agencies and small clinics”
- “Score these target segments on burning pain, willingness to pay, winnable share and referral potential, then recommend one”
- “Create a 90-day customer acquisition plan for our chosen beachhead segment”

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Give concrete details in the input: product capabilities, known customer groups, constraints and timeline, since the skill uses $ARGUMENTS for these
- Validate the scores with at least 10 real customer interviews, as the skill itself recommends, rather than trusting the agent's estimates
- Treat the projected market share and revenue numbers as hypotheses to test, not forecasts
