What it does
When installed, the agent gets a reference playbook for organizing Android and Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) projects into layers such as domain, data, and presentation. It knows the module layout, the rule that the domain layer must not depend on frameworks, and how to write use cases, repositories, mappers, Room/SQLDelight/Ktor data code, Koin or Hilt dependency injection, and Result-based error handling. The agent then applies these patterns when you ask it to build or refactor app code.
Great for
- Android developers starting a new app who want a consistent layered structure
- Teams moving a Kotlin or KMP codebase toward clean architecture
- Developers learning how repositories, use cases and data sources fit together
Skip it if
- Non-developers or projects that do not use Kotlin or Android; the patterns will not apply
- Small single-screen apps where this much layering adds unnecessary complexity
- Projects that must follow a different architecture (for example MVI with its own conventions); the agent may push these patterns over the project's existing ones
Try asking
- “Set up a module structure for a new Android app with domain, data, presentation and core modules”
- “Add a GetOrdersByUserUseCase and its repository interface and implementation to my project”
- “Wire up Koin dependency injection for my ViewModels and repositories in a KMP project”
- “Replace my ad-hoc error handling with a sealed Try/AppError pattern”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip android-clean-architecture.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip android-clean-architecture.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Point the agent at your existing module layout first so it adapts the patterns instead of duplicating structure.
- Ask for one layer at a time (for example, the domain layer first) to keep changes reviewable.
- Check generated Room, SQLDelight and Ktor code against the current library versions in your project, since the examples are illustrative.
