What it does
This skill gives the agent a set of engineering guidelines for teams that rely heavily on AI to write code. When it is active, the agent frames planning, reviews and test standards around the idea that AI can produce a lot of implementation quickly, so clear planning, measurable acceptance criteria, explicit interfaces and strong tests matter more than typing speed. It is advisory text: it shapes how the agent thinks and writes, but it does not run anything on its own.
Great for
- Engineering leads setting review and testing standards for AI-assisted teams
- Developers who want an agent to review changes with a focus on behaviour, security assumptions and rollout safety rather than style
- Teams designing agent-friendly architecture with explicit boundaries and typed interfaces
Skip it if
- Solo projects or one-off scripts where a full process model adds overhead without benefit
- Anyone expecting concrete tooling, commands or code templates: the file is high-level principles only (it is written in Japanese)
Try asking
- “Review this pull request for behavioural regressions, data integrity and failure handling, not style”
- “Propose an architecture for this service with explicit boundaries and typed interfaces that an agent can work within”
- “Define a testing standard for AI-generated code in this module, including edge-case assertions”
- “Write measurable acceptance criteria for this feature before any code is generated”

Add it to your agent
Claude Code (all projects)
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip ai-first-engineering.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)
mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip ai-first-engineering.zip -d .claude/skills/Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

Ask for the task
No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.
Get better results
- Because the guidance is in Japanese, ask for output in your preferred language if your team works in English.
- Combine it with your own project's review checklist; the skill sets principles, not project-specific rules.
- Point the agent at real code or a specific change so the principles translate into concrete review comments.
