Video negative prompt (avoid list) builder
Build an avoid list tailored to your shot's actual risks, and phrase it for models with a negative field or for those that only take positive wording.
Fill in your details
Values are inserted into every prompt below. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
3 field(s) left — unfilled variables stay as {{placeholders}}.
1Generate the avoid list
Run in a chat model. Long generic negative lists dilute the prompt; a short targeted list works better.
Here is my video generation prompt: """{{video_prompt}}""" Problems I saw in previous takes (if any): {{observed_problems}} Does my tool have a separate negative prompt field? {{has_negative_field}} 1. List the 5-8 most likely failure modes for THIS shot (consider hands, faces, text, physics, camera, consistency, flicker). 2. Write a concise negative prompt as comma-separated terms. 3. Rewrite the main prompt with positive phrasing that prevents the same problems (e.g. "clean frame" instead of "no text", "steady camera" instead of "no shake"), for models that ignore negatives. 4. If the tool has no negative field, give one final prompt with a short "Avoid:" line at the end.
Example input
Prompt: woman drinking coffee at a café window, slow push-in. Problems: hands merge with the cup, mug logo changes. Negative field: yes.
Example output
Likely failures: hand and cup merging, extra fingers, mug logo morphing, steam flickering, face changing as she lifts the cup, background patrons warping. Negative prompt: merged hands, extra fingers, deformed cup, text, logo, flickering steam, face morphing, distorted background people Positive rewrite: Medium close-up, slow push-in. A woman holds a plain white ceramic mug with both hands, fingers clearly wrapped around it, and takes a slow sip by a café window. Clean frame, plain mug, softly blurred empty background, steady camera, gentle continuous steam.
Troubleshooting
- The negative prompt makes things worse: remove terms one by one; some models react oddly to long lists.
- Problems persist: change the shot (crop, angle, action) rather than adding more negatives.
Known limitations
- Negative prompts are handled very differently by each model, and some ignore them entirely.
