30-second product ad workflow

Go from a product brief to three ad concepts, a timed beat sheet, voice-over, per-shot generation prompts and an edit plan for a 30-second spot.

You'll need: Product photos or a clear product description · Access to a text-to-video or image-to-video model · A basic video editor (CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve or similar)
  1. 1Generate three concepts

Use any chat model for steps 1-3. Pick the concept that can be shown, not just told; AI video is strongest at mood and motion, weakest at complex interactions with small objects.

4 steps and 3 ready-to-use prompts are in the full version

Example input

Insulated bottle, matte sage green with bamboo lid; urban commuters; benefit: ice-cold for 24h; proof: 4.8 stars from 12,000 reviews; 9:16; CTA: Shop the Commuter Collection.

Example output

Concept 2 — "Still cold at six" Hook (0-3s): Close-up of ice cubes clinking into the bottle at sunrise. On-screen: "Filled at 7am." Beat sheet excerpt | 22-27s | Proof | Bottle on a bike rack at dusk, condensation visible | "Still cold at 7pm" | "Twelve thousand commuters already know." | Music swells | Shot 6 prompt Medium close-up, slow push-in, a matte sage-green insulated steel bottle with a bamboo lid stands on a bike rack, light condensation on its surface, city street at dusk with soft bokeh lights, warm low sun from the left, calm Scandinavian minimal style, 4 seconds, aspect ratio 9:16. Avoid: changing bottle colour, text or logos on the bottle, warped bike frame.

Troubleshooting

  • The product looks different in every shot: switch to image-to-video from one approved still, and reuse the exact product description word for word.
  • Motion is chaotic: remove secondary movements and keep one camera move per shot.
  • Voice-over overruns 30 seconds: cut adjectives first, then merge the problem beat into the hook.

Known limitations

  • Generated footage of your product may not match reality closely enough for claims; check advertising rules and use real product footage for close-ups if accuracy matters.
  • Model behaviour, durations and aspect ratios vary by tool and change often; adjust shot lengths to what your tool supports.
  • Check each platform's terms on commercial use of generated video and on disclosure of AI-generated content.
