Explainer video with B-roll prompt list
Turn a topic into a short explainer script with a timed B-roll list and a ready video prompt for every visual beat.
Fill in your details
Values are inserted into every prompt below. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
6 field(s) left — unfilled variables stay as {{placeholders}}.
1Write the script and B-roll list
Run in a chat model. The table keeps narration and visuals aligned so editing is just dropping clips onto the timeline.
Write a {{runtime}} explainer video script about: {{topic}} Audience: {{audience}}. Tone: {{tone}}. Output a table: # | Time | Narration (spoken, ~2.5 words per second) | B-roll idea (literal visual, 3-6 seconds) | Shot type. Rules: hook question in the first sentence; one idea per row; B-roll must be filmable without readable text, charts or real people; vary shot types (wide, close-up, macro, aerial); mark rows where an on-screen graphic would explain better than footage with "GRAPHIC".2Turn each B-roll idea into a video prompt
Paste the table back and run this. Keep the style line identical for every clip so the video looks like one piece.
For every row not marked GRAPHIC, write a video prompt in this format: [Shot type and camera move]. [Subject and action]. [Setting]. Lighting: [...]. Style: {{visual_style}}. Duration [row length], aspect ratio {{aspect_ratio}}. Avoid: text, captions, watermarks, logos, warped faces, flicker. Number the prompts to match the rows.3Assemble
Record or generate the voice-over first, lay it on the timeline, then drop clips under each line. Build GRAPHIC rows as simple motion graphics in your editor or a slide tool.
Example input
60-second explainer: how noise-cancelling headphones work, for non-experts, friendly tone, 16:9.
Example output
| 2 | 0:04-0:10 | "Every sound is a wave of air pressure, pushing and pulling at your eardrum." | Macro of a speaker cone vibrating, dust dancing on it | Macro | Prompt 2 Extreme macro shot, static camera. A black speaker cone vibrates rapidly, fine dust particles jumping on its surface. Dark studio setting. Lighting: single hard side light raking across the cone. Style: clean modern documentary, soft daylight, muted blues and whites. Duration 6 seconds, aspect ratio 16:9. Avoid: text, captions, watermarks, logos, warped faces, flicker.
Troubleshooting
- The B-roll is too abstract to generate: ask for 'literal, concrete objects and actions only'.
- Narration runs long: ask the model to show a running word count per row and trim to the target.
Known limitations
- Check every factual claim in the script yourself; chat models can state errors confidently.
- Diagram-like explanations are better as motion graphics than generated footage.
