What it does

When you ask the agent to put your app or website online, this skill packages your project folder (leaving out node_modules and .git), detects which web framework it uses, and uploads it to a Vercel hosting endpoint using a bundled shell script. The agent then gives you a preview link to the live site and a claim link that lets you move the site into your own Vercel account later. No Vercel login is needed to start.

Great for

  • Developers who want a quick shareable preview of a finished project
  • Non-technical people who built a simple static HTML page and want a live link
  • Teams sharing a work-in-progress site with a client or reviewer

Skip it if

  • Projects containing secrets or private data, since the folder contents are uploaded to a third-party service and the site is publicly reachable by its URL
  • Production systems needing controlled environments, custom domains, or audited deploys, because the skill only creates a claimable deployment through a fixed endpoint

Try asking

  • “Deploy my app and give me the preview link”
  • “Push this live”
  • “Create a preview deployment of the current project”
  • “Deploy the static HTML file in this folder and send me the link”
Step-by-step guide: how to use Vercel DeployInstall, first run, examples, tips and FAQs

Install in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Download the skill

    The ZIP contains the 2 original files, the MIT licence and an attribution note.

    vercel-deploy.zip
  2. 2

    Add it to your agent

    Claude Code (all projects)

    mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills && unzip vercel-deploy.zip -d ~/.claude/skills/

    Claude Code / Agent SDK (this project only)

    mkdir -p .claude/skills && unzip vercel-deploy.zip -d .claude/skills/

    Claude apps (web/desktop): Settings → Capabilities → Skills → Upload skill, and choose the ZIP.

  3. 3

    Ask for the task

    No special command needed — the agent reads the skill's description and loads it when your request matches. Try one of the prompts above.

Get better results

  • Remove .env files and secrets from the folder before deploying, since the project is uploaded as-is
  • Use the claim link promptly if you want to keep the site in your own Vercel account
  • If deployment is blocked on claude.ai, add the Vercel domain to the allowed domains in capability settings as described in the skill
